women and ‘rs’

an interview study

Kia ora!

We set up this simple website so women can find out more about our study, and what taking part involves. You can read the detailed information sheet, which explains what the interviews are about, what we do with the interviews, and how we look after the research data. You can also read our consent form, which sets out what you would be agreeing to if you choose to take part in the research. The interviews have a semi-structured conversational tone, but we also ask a few demographic questions to provide some context for women’s stories. We’ve also included here the brief questionnaire we use for that.

So far we have spoken with women with a wide range of different experiences. Every interview has contributed important insights, and we look forward to hearing from more women about their experiences and views. If you would like to do an interview or have any questions, please get in touch! We are also very happy to chat about what’s involved before you decide, if you are interested but unsure.

While this site is very bare bones at the moment (and deliberately vague, so as not to attract unwanted attention!), we hope to develop it when the research is closer to being finished, so we can share our findings here.

Thank you for your interest in our research!

Information Sheet

Download our “Participant Information Sheet”, which explains more about our interview study, and how we would use your contribution as part of our research.

Consent Form

The consent form sets out what you would be agreeing to if you took part in the study. We ask you to sign the consent form at the interview – or for interviews done over zoom, we collect a signed consent form before the interview.

Participant Demographics

Before the interview we collect a few background details (age, ethnicity, sexuality and so on). You can read the questions we ask here – if there were any questions you didn’t want to answer, it would be fine to leave them blank. For in person interviews we go over these at the start of the interview. For zoom interviews, you can either fill it out ahead of time and send it to us before the interview, or we will go through it with you and fill it out for you at the start of the interview.
